Tennis: Find a Partner at Your Level and Get on Court

Find a tennis partner at your level, get on court and turn every match into progress.

About Tennis

What is tennis?

Tennis is a dynamic sport played by two or four players with rackets and a ball, and it develops you physically and mentally alike. Much of a match is about reading your opponent and building a strategy to match.

Because it asks for agility and focus it puts individual performance first, while still offering friendly competition and a social setting. At Sporsepeti we run leagues that separate beginners, intermediate and advanced players.

On Sporsepeti everyone has their own rating, and you are matched with a partner on that basis. That is how we make finding a tennis partner simple. We offer tennis not just as a game but as personal development, competition and a way to meet people.

What tennis gives you

  • Stamina: Tennis matches can run long. With breaks, a match can pass an hour — and that builds endurance.
  • Speed: Having to reach the ball and take up position as fast as possible teaches you to move more quickly.
  • Hand-eye coordination: The interplay of racket, ball and reflex improves your coordination.
  • Strategic thinking: Everyone plays differently, so you have to adjust to the opponent in front of you.
  • Focus and concentration: Your mental stamina builds across a match.
  • Social connection: Singles or doubles, you widen your circle.

What is a Grand Slam? A closer look at the four majors.

One term you hear more than any other in tennis: the Grand Slam. So what exactly is it, and why are these tournaments so special? Let us look at the four majors together.

What is the Grand Slam?

The "Grand Slam" refers to the four major tournaments played across the year. They stand out for their prestige and for the level of competition. Winning all four in the same year is called a "calendar Grand Slam" — one of the rarest and greatest achievements in the sport.

1. Australian Open

  • Where? Melbourne, Australia
  • When? January
  • Surface: Hard court
  • What stands out: As the first Grand Slam of the year it opens the season. Played in summer heat, it is physically punishing.
  • Legendary moments: Novak Djokovic's titles here have made the tournament something close to home ground for him.

2. French Open (Roland Garros)

  • Where? Paris, France
  • When? May to June
  • Surface: Clay
  • What stands out: Clay stretches rallies out and tests physical endurance. Players who can slide come to the fore.
  • Legendary moments: Rafael Nadal's records at Roland Garros made the tournament his own — 14 titles in the history books.

3. Wimbledon

  • Where? London, England
  • When? June to July
  • Surface: Grass
  • What stands out: The oldest and most traditional Grand Slam. All-white clothing, strawberries and cream, the royal box… a genuine tennis occasion.
  • Legendary moments: The 2008 Federer–Nadal final is among the greatest matches ever played.

4. US Open

  • Where? New York, USA
  • When? August to September
  • Surface: Hard court
  • What stands out: High-tempo matches, a loud crowd and night sessions give the tournament the feel of a festival.
  • Legendary moments: Serena Williams and Pete Sampras produced unforgettable performances here.
